Winter can be quite a costly time of the year; I mean there are literally so many different things that you have to pay for. There is Halloween, Bonfire night and Christmas and New Year which will all take a big chunk out of your savings. But there is also another problem with winter time. Your cars tend to break down a vast amount more during the summer months. So lets take a look at some of the more common winter happenings.

Windscreen Wipers

The windscreen wipers are probably the most common problem throughout the winter months. There is a strict reason as to why and this is mainly due down to the fact that people do not check their windscreen wipers during the winter months. But when the wintertime strikes the deluge causes the problems. So just before the summertime ends I would look at getting some new wipers installed.

Engine

The engine of a car gets a whole lot noisier and inefficient in the winter months, this is again due down to the fact that the engine and the pipes become frozen and have to work overtime to heat themselves up. This all makes the car break down and cause maintenance expenses.

Exhaust

The exhaust is the final thing that always tend to break on you in the winter months. It may have been going well all summer but because of the rain and water forever splashing up on the exhaust, it promptly causes rust, which will then finally make a hole in your exhaust which will then expand and need replacing over time.

There are many more problems that can occur with your car during the winter months, but just make sure that you get your vehicle serviced before winter gets here.
