That conversation where situations are going fantastic, then another person says something, and you are struggling in mind for a response which will get rid of the embarrassing silence… when you can’t think of anything to keep the conversation going.

The actual issue at this point isn’t that you do not know what you should say… it’s that you are doing something anyone else doesn’t do.

You are trying to THINK of something to say to the other person that may keep away from being rejected… due to there being basically a lot of things you could say just to keep the conversation going, or get the other person talking.

Something simple like:

“Yeah that sounds really crappy”

“You’re really strong for dealing with that by yourself”

“Weren’t you scared?”

You will find a million things you could say to keep a conversation going… you’re just looking for that one special “magic line” that’s going to GUARANTEE the other person will respond positively… that’s the reason you can never think of anything to say, the reason you’re getting stuck, and the ONE THING you’re doing differently from other people.
