Without a car on the road in this day and age you are going to find it hard to do anything at all, cars are essential to commute and get around in. But one of the main problems is that people get very tired of commuting daily. But this may be all referable to alter in the next few years, A European Union project called SARTRE (Safe Road Trains for the Environment) is to be launched to evolve and test technology for vehicles that can travel in ‘road trains’ on motorways.

Basically how this would work is when a car joins the motorway, they would slot into a convoy of up to 10 vehicles, the cars would then drive themselves automatically until they are due to leave the motorway. So how would this work then? Well, fundamentally each and every vehicle would communicate with one another on the satellite piloting systems, they would then pass the data over to the other vehicles and in return get back signals on how slow or fast to go and how close they are to other vehicles.

So how would this help assist people? Well, first off it would allow people to rest while they are commuting, just as they would if they were travelling on a train. Next it would promote a greener environment because the cars would be much more close knit and finally it would help stop traffic and road accidents, because of the fact that the cars will be driving so close to each other, but in essence communicating with each other to avoid any potentially fat collisions or knocks that usually occur on such busy roads.

When your old vehicle has had it, why not look at purchasing or viewing used cars, there are so many different models of Audi or Mercedes

Over time, the entertainment industry has elevated the popularity of particular brands of vehicles by highlighting some of the fictional rides that have graced the pages of novels, the lyrics of songs, the 30-minute TV show, and the silver screen. Fred and Wilma peddling around in their signature rockmobile, James Bond car chases with their array of “special” features or the Beach Boys bring life to the Little Deuce Coupe, these fictional cars have become a part of our childhood memories.. Gaining fame through out the years these cars have earned a the rank of top 5 most famous..

Sit back and enjoy as NorCal Vintage Cars brings you the Top 5 fictional Cars

Batmobile
In both the Batman television shows and movies, the superhero-on-the-go often hopped into a sleek, black, highly customized vehicle that provided protection for his Bruce Wayne alter ego. Heavy armor plating and a high performance engine, and a jet black paint job equipped Batmans ride, the evolution of the Batman series displayed increasing levels of gadgets. To reach increased speeds, the Batmobile sometimes offered rocket boosts (a little cheesy in the original series), while additional weapons and a computerized assistance helped subdue the villains.

KITT
The talking car (a Pontiac Trans Am) aided David Hasselhoff’s character, Michael Knight, navigate through a sea of enemies and bad guys.. The television series focused on a high-tech (for the time) approach to entertain the audience. Numerous fans watched the show just to see what KITT would do or say next. The popularity of the show even helped to boost Pontiac car sales as the verbal wonder could drive without a passenger and even displayed its own set of entertaining stunts.

Christine
Driven by supernatural forces, the antique car reeked havoc in both the novel and the movie. The horror novel Christine was published in 1983.. Driven by supernatural forces, the antique auto created havoc in both the novel and the movie.

Herbie
1969 started the popularization of a VW Beetle Herbie The Lovebug. Herbie stared in a number of Disney movies and cartoons, with a new made-for-television film in 1997 and a full movie in 2005.. Just like Christine, the red, white, and blue striped car with a “53″ on its side could also drive without assistance and had a reputation for acting on its own. The Herbie movies and cartoons were usually set to a racing theme.

General Lee
The television series and movie named the Dukes of Hazzard showed main characters, Bo and Luke Duke soaring through the air, causing mischief with their get-rich schemes, while their sister Daisy Duke graced the show with her legs.. The General Lee was known for it’s Confederate flag decoration and orange paint. Named after the Southern General, the General Lee was also known for its distinctive orange paint and confederate flag decoration.

Purchasing a automobile is a vast investment. Whether its a brand new or second hand vehicle, you still have to pay quite a bit of money so that it meets your specifications.

Second hand cars can be purchased by going to the local dealer, looking at the classified ads or checking out the diverse websites that allow a person to search and purchase a automobile on-line.

There are two reasons why used cars are cheaper. The first is that cars once purchased and driven off a lot immediately depreciate. Annually, these cars lose about 20% in value making it easy for you to buy a second hand car almost at half the original price.

Another reason is that it is hard to buy a car and pay the full payment up front. By acquiring the services of a financial institution such as a bank, a person can pay off the loan through monthly installments. Regrettably, some people have failed to abide by that allegiance which leaves the financial institutions no option but to have the automobile repossessed.

For the bank to debar storing the many cars that have been repossessed and make up for the lost money, these cars are auctioned off at once which make it easy for some favorable people to buy fairly new cars and forestall being taken advantage of by automobile dealers.

Before buying a vehicle. it is best to think about the kind of car that you are willing to spend for and the options that come with it. By doing some research and checking out various dealers, you will be able to pick the right car and get the best deal.

Most important of all, you should ask about the warranty. If there are some things not covered by it, it is best to get a service contract to be safe.

When your old vehicle has had it, why not look at purchasing or taking a look at used cars, there are so many different models of Alfa Romeo or Nissan

Money is presently tight with a lot of people, but people in this day and age still need cars if they want to get around anyplace. But what would actually be more beneficial to buy, would it be junk or a hunk of a vehicle? Let’s have a look at the asset and negative sides of both.

New Cars

Initially news cars tend to be much more reliable than older versions. As well as this they are much more comforting then the old model of cars. You are probably going to end up saving a huge amount of money on petrol costs simply because new cars are a lot more efficient than your old models. You are also going to save money on things such as break down costs. The negative aspects of getting a new vehicle is that you will end up paying a huge volume more to insure yourself. Also if the car does happen to break down then you are going to end up paying more for parts.

Used Cars

Well used cars are exactly that, they are simply used vehicles that have probably been around for numerous years. You are not genuinely going to find any current or up to date technology in these cars, the vehicles have also in all likelihood got to a stage where they are going to tardily begin breaking down, therefore ending up costing you a lot throughout the year in repairs. But the benefits that you can get from buying a used car, is simply the fact that they are a lot cheaper to buy, the insurance is going to cost you a lot less and you are probably going to end up saving money in the long run.

When your old vehicle has had it, why not look at buying or viewing used cars, there are so many different models of Honda or Ford

TomTom (the most famous creators of the Sat Nav) have actually teamed up with Apple in making a piece of sofware for the iPhone that does something very similar to a normal Sat Nav?

The easy answer is no. This is coming to the iPhone for around £60 which is not cheap at all. Of course the friendly woman telling you where to go is present here but what on earth happens if you recieve a telephone call when you are concentrating on the directions. Is the lovely Sat Nav woman simply saying “please stop here while you take the call” as you frantically answer “BUT I’M IN THE MIDDLE OF A MOTORWAY!!!This inventions has many flaws but then again dont all inventions.

The price isn’t exactly nice either; you can get a decent Sat Nav for cheaper that will do more than this extra application. Is it not just promoting you to look at your mobile phone when you are driving your nice, soon to be wrecked (if you are constantly looking at your phone) Mercedes orNissan?

Of course all of this could be just a little bit more hype for the iPhone? The thing is, many mobile phones have been able to do this for quite a number of years, why is the iPhone so special? It isnt at all. It is more of an added bonus to existing iPhone owners rather than a product buying piece of software which is what makes it worth having.

It doesn’t matter what car you have, or even if you are thinking of getting used cars it can work with anything just like a normal Sat Nav.

The iPhone application is jsut another option should you be interested in buying a Sat Nav.

Zipcar have invented a brand new way to unlock the car. They are doing well for themselves as this is an idea unique to them at this moment in time. This company, like many others have actually been keeping their eyes on the market and have realised that the iPhone is very popular so they have come up with a brand new idea for renting one of their cars.

With over 400 of their cars already installed with the new product it is only a matter of time before all of their electronic opening cars are fitted with the same piece of technology. The system that has been created can actually tell the difference between each and every iPhone so you wont have any thieves attempting to steal your ride. The signal from the phone is picked up by a tiny system placed on the inside of the car itself. For security reasons when you rent the car and get inside it for the very first time there is a security card that must be swiped so that it will pick you up as the individual user for that car.

This invention sounds like it is coming straight from a famous spy movie than anything else. Of course you are not going to be able to do this with used cars yet because this is happening only at Zipcar. However the day is sure to arrive where everyone is unlocking their new cars in this way. Perhaps in the future when you go to buy an Audi or perhaps when you buy a Honda

So what is next for the iPhone and car? Perhaps you will be able to let the phone steer your car for you or do it via remote controlled access like in the Bond movies or perhaps this is as far as it is going to go. Of course technology itself is ever changing and it is almost certain to say that we can hope to see a lot more of these types of inventions.

I have just begun a new job and feel that the time is right for me to be looking into buying a new car. I have had my Fiat Punto for about 6 years now and even though she has been brilliant, unfortunately she is looking a bit old and scruffy.

My predicament is choosing the right car to invest in?

Nowadays there are so many cars on the market, and I worry that if I make the wrong purchase I will be lumbered with a car I do not like for the next 6 or 7 years.

A mate of mine suggested that perhaps it would be a good idea to look at the merits of leasing a car for a few years. My first thoughts were that this would work out too expensive and I should just buy a car outright.

I decided to do some investigative work and get all the facts and figures together to see what deals were around for Cheap Lease Cars.

I was very surprised by the competitive deals around, but still undecided about which car to choose.

My very first car was a Vauxhall Nova, so I thought that probably looking into Vauxhall Contract Hire would be a good place to begin my search.

Although Vauxhall have some super cars available, I was considering leasing a car more in line with my new company status.

My other half owns a fantastic Toyota Avensis and he is more than happy with his car. His car is very reliable and to date he has not had any problems with it. With this in mind, I conducted a search into Toyota Contract Hire and I was suitably impressed by the Toyota Landcruiser. I think this is a brilliant car, it is certainly big enough for the family with plenty of room for all my shopping and it will look great out in the company car park.

I think the Landcruiser will suit me very well for the next 3 years. The brilliant part is that at the end of the 3 year lease, I even have the option of buying the car if I want.

There is a vast amount of people who pass their driving tests but literally do not know what to expect. So let us take a look at the first initial years of driving and take a look at a few things that you can really expect to happen during the first few years

Year One

The first year is in all likelihood the most nerve racking and most expensive. Your insurance rates will probably explode through the roof. As well as this you are probably going to end up knocking your car here and then throughout the year. I still have yet to come across somebody that has not bumped their automobile in the first year of driving.

Year Two

You are now starting to build up self-confidence and your driving is getting a lot better. You have probably ended up upgrading your vehicle and seen a drop in your insurance premium.

Year Four

You are now a fully vaned cracking driver your self-assurance has frown over the recent years and you have in all likelihood had your great share of speeding tickets and collisions. You are now beginning to become a much more ripen driver.

Year Ten

You are the now a great mature driver, you have built up years of no claims bonuses and your insurance premium is near enough nothing, you are allowed to drive every car you like and you are probably now teaching other people to drive in the same way.

Year Forty

This is when you likely begin losing it a little and begin to have slower reactions and at long last see your insurance policy premiums on the rise again. The best time for cheap driving is probably from the ages of 25 to around the 50 mark. When you’re driving and patience then ultimately begins to deteriorate slightly.

When your old car has had it, why not look at purchasing or viewing used cars, there are so many different models of Audi or Nissan

The older you get the faster time seems to go by. Getting an MOT for your vehicle is a once in a year task, but because it is a once in a year task a lot of people forget to go out and get their MOTs. Now dont get me amiss I have in reality forgot mine on numerous occasions, but the worst thing is that if you get stopped by the police force then you will in all likelihood end up getting points on your permit and end up paying a sizable fine.

I really do not know why people forget, but its probably because its something that is not really on your mind and when you do think about it, you always have the perception that you have months left. So let us glance at a few techniques that could very well help you out.

Key ring

Why not get a key ring that you hang on your car keys which you can then use to then store various notes. I mean you are fundamentally going to need your keys every single time that you drive your automobile, so what a better place to put a reminder.

Road Tax Trick

We do not just have road tax discs so that the government can see we have one, I mean in this day and age do they genuinely need to when they can look everything up on the computer. One of the reasons that you have to expose your road tax is so you remember when it is due for renewal. But the same thing cannot really be said for MOTs; you probably put them in the glove compartment and then totally forget about them for the rest of the year. So what I am trying to say is display them somewhere that they can constantly be visible.

When your old vehicle has had it, why not look at purchasing or viewing used cars, there are so many different models of Alfa Romeo or Toyota

There are so many different models of vehicles around in this day and age that it can be quite a daunting task to find a list of the best, especially when each person has their favourite brand. But I will now put my list together of car models which I think are outstanding and will let you know the reasons as to why.

Ford Mondeo

The Ford Mondeo is a true jem, it has been around for years, ford have had their hard times in business, but one thing they have always offered is great value for money. The Ford Mondeo is a well and truly strong and stable car, it has superb features but at half the cost of the more extravagant models.

Peugeot 206

If you are looking for a small car or a first time car then the Peugeot 206 was definitely a car to have to your name. Again another reliable power horse that will not let you down and on top of that its cheap to run and cheap to insure.

Mercedes C220

If you are looking to step the class up a level but not increase the price too much then consider the elegant Mercedes C220. If you have ever driven a Mercedes you will come to realize that its in all likelihood the most comfy drive you will ever have. I actually used to drive a Mercedes 190D myself and even know it was made years ago it was still luxury. Mercedes jam pack their cars with top of the range features and although the downside may be that their parts are expensive, the reality is that the cars hardly every cause any trouble.

What is your favorite ever model car and why?

Superb used cars, Looking for a great BMW or Ford
